At home on Friday, June 16, 2017 with his loving family by his side, a good man left this earth. William was a faithful Christian, a profoundly fair and just man of few words. God's mercy allowed him to fight a private and determined battle with cancer for 5+ years by his deep spiritual strength and love of family.

William is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 48 years, Yong Hui Park-Raynor and their two devoted children, daughter Yvonne Raynor (Atlanta, GA) and son Yong Chin Raynor (Greensboro, NC). William lived to see his first grandson who is also named William (and the legacy continues), and just loved his fascination with "all things" cars or technical. William's prayer for his children and grandson, "God, I thank you for the great happiness my children and grandson brought to me. I pray that they will forever be joyful in you, dear Lord God. It is my prayer that you will always take pleasure in them and that you will beautify them with your salvation. Amen."

William was the first of five children, born in Norfolk, Virginia on August 24, 1947. He was the loving, mild-mannered son of Doris O. Raynor-Miles and the late William H. Raynor, Sr. His stepfather, Thomas Miles was so special to him for the tender, loving care that presently he provides to his mother. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Alexander and Lettie Raynor of Windsor, NC who raised him and his sister Darlene; and his maternal grandparents, John and Hattie Spain of Norfolk, VA. His loving siblings are Darlene Raynor-Johnson (Lawrence), CT, Victoria Raynor-Porter, VA, Ralph Raynor, VA, and Nathaniel Raynor (Anita), NM. Uncle Dunne as he was affectionately called leaves to cherish his memory many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and sister-in-laws. He also leaves numerous Christian brothers and sisters, friends and co-workers.

William enlisted in the United States Air Force soon after graduating from Southwestern High School, Windsor, NC in 1965. During his 24 years in the military, he served with purpose of duty and honor of service both domestically and internationally. He was awarded several ranks of increasing distinction and responsibilities, retiring as Chief Master Sargent in 1990. After his military retirement, he worked for the US Postal Services for 20 years, retiring in 2011.
