Col. Thomas P. Martin, USAF retired died on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was born June 12, 1930 to Mildred and Bernard Martin in W. Newton, MA.
He graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point, NY with a B.S. degree. He also earned an M.A. from the Univ. of Massachusetts at Amherst. His interesting career included tours in Germany with the US Embassy as a Military Attaché, a pilot in Vietnam and Iceland, an instructor in academics and flying stateside, as well as two tours at the Pentagon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Danny; sisters, Theresa Malcomb of MA and Mildred Evenson of MN. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Ann; sons; Thomas Jr. and wife Tory of Texas, Bill and wife Carol of NC, Peter and wife Sandy of KY; daughter, Ann Marie and husband David O'Donnell of NY; and brother, Bernard Martin of MS.
Spending time with his nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter were always very special.
Private services will follow at a later date at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
