Julia Ann Horosko, age 57, peacefully transitioned to heaven on June 7, 2017 at Greenhaven Health and Rehab after a courageous battle with Type I Diabetes. Julie was born in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan but lived in many places growing up as a child of a military father. She was born to Chief Master Sergeant Steve Horosko (US Air Force Ret) and the late Jeweldine Smith Horosko, a retired registered nurse. Julie was a loving daughter, partner, sister and professional; always showing love and concern for family and friends and those under her care.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated partner of 27 years, Kent Cline of Greensboro, NC. Julie is also survived by her brother, Colonel Steve Horosko III (US Army Ret), his wife Andrea of Fayetteville, NC and their two grown children, Stanley Horosko of Charlotte, NC and Caroline Horosko of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving is her sister, Lieutenant Colonel Donna Horosko (US Army Ret) of Charlotte, NC.

Julie graduated from UNCG with a nursing degree and went on to have a successful career as a registered nurse doing what she loved the most; caring for others. Julie was vivacious and fun loving, always making the most out of any situation. Julie truly appreciated the love and support shown her and always had a kind word for others through her vibrant spirit.

The family would like to express their appreciation to those at Greenhaven Health and Rehab that showed true compassion. Also, to Julie's close friends, Lou Hearn, Cathy Lane, and Debbie Smith; who always stood by her side even through tough times.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the American Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of her life service at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
